Alectinib drug handling study for ALK-positive advanced lung cancer

This early-phase trial studies how alectinib (an ALK-blocking medicine) moves through the body and how it’s tolerated in people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) that has an ALK rearrangement. You may be considered if you have ALK-positive, recurrent or advanced disease and have already had specific prior treatments.

Who can take part

  • Be at least 18 years old (any sex)
  • Have NSCLC confirmed by biopsy and ALK gene rearrangement found by an FDA-approved test (IHC or FISH)
  • Have stage IIIB to IV lung cancer that has come back, or progressed (recurrent disease)
  • Have had an ALK-targeting medicine as first treatment, plus one prior chemotherapy line with platinum
  • Have measurable disease and good overall body strength (Karnofsky score 70 or higher)
  • Have adequate blood, liver, and kidney function, and expected survival of at least 12 weeks
