Who can take part

  • Child age 1 to 18, with DIPG that has grown again on MRI after surgery/chemo/radiation
  • A brain biopsy is done before the virus injection to confirm the DIPG diagnosis
  • Tumor must be reachable for stereotactic (guided) biopsy
  • Child must score at least 50 on the study’s health/activity readiness scale (LPS for ages 1–15, KPS for 16+)
  • No pregnancy and, if able to become pregnant, a negative pregnancy test is required
  • Blood counts and liver function must be strong enough for treatment (certain low counts and high liver tests are not allowed)
