Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older
  • You need a new dual-chamber pacemaker, or an upgrade from a single-chamber pacemaker
  • Your blood pressure stays in a target range despite stable hypertension medicines (no dose changes planned for at least 2 months after implant)
  • Your blood pressure is still high based on clinic readings and a 24-hour blood pressure monitor around 4 weeks after the pacemaker is placed
  • You can attend study visits and keep taking your blood pressure medicines as directed
  • You do not have certain heart rhythm problems, major heart pumping weakness, or other major heart conditions that could make this unsafe
