Mistletoe shots for lung-spread osteosarcoma after surgery

Osteogenic Sarcoma Recurrent

This trial tests Iscador P, a mistletoe-based immunotherapy given as skin injections, to help stop or control recurrent, resected osteosarcoma that has spread to the lungs. It’s for people who already had all visible lung metastases removed and are now trying to stay in remission.

Who can take part

  • You have osteosarcoma confirmed by tissue biopsy (pathology).
  • Your lung cancer came back after surgery, and all visible lung metastases were removed within the last 8 weeks.
  • At least one removed lung tumor site must be confirmed as osteosarcoma metastasis under the microscope.
  • You’re between 8 and under 30 years old, and you can receive under-the-skin (subcutaneous) injections.
  • You must be well enough to participate (Karnofsky 60%+ if over 16, or Lansky 60%+ if 16 or under) and have life expectancy over 2 months.
  • Recent cancer treatment side effects must be mostly resolved, and your blood and organ tests must be within required limits (including adequate liver, kidney, white blood cell, and platelet counts).
