  • Be an adult age 18 to 65
  • Have a main diagnosis of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) for at least 6 months
  • Score high enough on an anxiety scale (HAM-A) at both screening and start of treatment
  • Have enough symptom severity on a clinician rating scale (CGI-S) at both visits
  • Match a traditional pattern called “liver Qi stagnation and spleen deficiency” (TCM syndrome)
