Exercise program before scoliosis surgery in teens

Who can take part

  • You have been diagnosed with adolescent idiopathic scoliosis (a sideways curve of the spine that develops in teenagers)
  • You are between 10 and 18 years old
  • Your spine curve measures more than 40 degrees
  • You are on the waitlist for posterior spinal fusion surgery (a back surgery to straighten the spine) at the Stollery Hospital
  • You have not had any previous spine surgeries
  • You are not currently doing scoliosis-specific exercises
