- Be within 14 weeks of a new type 1 diabetes diagnosis
- Be able and willing to have a non-invasive test of artery stiffness for about 1 hour
- Be able and willing to wear a 24-hour automated blood pressure monitor
- Have no other major hormone, metabolic, or heart-related conditions (besides type 1 diabetes)
