Canadian Bone Strength Development Study for Kids with Type 1 Diabetes

Who can take part

  • Girls ages 10–11 or boys ages 11–12.
  • Diagnosed with type 1 diabetes for at least 6 months.
  • No other illnesses or medications that affect bones or growth (e.g., kidney disease, celiac disease, thyroid problems, or early puberty).
  • Have not yet started the major growth spurt of puberty.
  • Parent or guardian must also agree to the study.
