Who can take part
- You have confirmed squamous cell cancer in the oropharynx (part of the throat behind the tongue).
- Your tumor tests p16-positive, meaning strong staining in at least 70% of cancer cells.
- Your cancer fits a “favorable risk” pattern: it is T1–T2 and stays within 1 cm of the middle of the neck but does not cross the midline.
- Your scans must not show lymph node involvement on both sides of the neck (no bilateral neck adenopathy).
- You must be able to have recent imaging and tests: a CT or MRI with contrast within 56 days, and a PET/CT within 28 days; and your health (blood, kidney, liver) should be adequate.
- If you have ever smoked, you must share your smoking history (pack-years).
