This study uses deep learning to predict which people are at risk for “cerebral hyperperfusion syndrome” (a dangerous spike in brain blood flow) after carotid revascularization. If you qualify, they’ll use scans/tests to estimate your risk so doctors can watch you more closely if needed.

Who can take part

  • You are between 30 and 80 years old
  • You have a blocked/narrowed carotid artery and need a carotid revascularization procedure
  • You do not have conditions like vasculitis or certain brain vessel problems (aneurysms, arteriovenous malformations)
  • You do not have a brain tumor or a history of neuroinfection or traumatic brain injury
  • You do not have epilepsy or nervous-system diseases that affect the brain/spinal cord (demyelinating diseases)
  • Your heart and kidney status are acceptable, and you can receive iodine contrast for imaging, if needed
