Remote preconditioning therapy for newly sick sepsis patients

Who can take part

  • You are age 18 or older.
  • Your sepsis started within the last 12 hours.
  • You are in the ICU and need a breathing machine for at least 24 hours and/or medicines to raise blood pressure (vasopressors).
  • You can receive full ICU care and are expected to stay in the ICU for at least 72 hours.
  • You have not been diagnosed with kidney injury before starting the study, and you do not have severe long-term kidney disease (eGFR below 30).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are able to give consent in writing (or consent is obtained according to study rules).
