Drug ADI-PEG 20 for NASH in people with mild cirrhosis
Treatments studied
Part of Digestive system clinical trials.
This trial tests ADI-PEG 20 against a placebo (inactive pill) to see if it improves liver disease in people with NASH and compensated cirrhosis. It may help by targeting liver fat and inflammation seen on scans and biopsy.

Who can take part
- You’re age 18–80 and assigned male, or for non-pregnant/non-breastfeeding females with a negative pregnancy test.
- Your NASH diagnosis must be confirmed by a recent or recent-within-6-months liver biopsy, showing specific levels of fat, swelling, and inflammation.
- Your liver scarring stage must be F1 to F4, and people with the mildest stage (F1) make up a limited portion of the study.
- Your MRI scan must show at least 5% liver fat, and your FibroScan reading must be between 7.0 and 20.0 kPa.
- You must be able to safely have MRI scans (no certain metal devices/implants) and agree to use effective birth control during treatment and for 90 days after.
- You must avoid alcohol above the trial limit and have certain blood test results (kidney function, liver enzymes, clotting) within allowed ranges.

This study tests whether ADI-PEG 20 helps people with advanced, unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (liver cancer) who have high arginine levels. Participants get ADI-PEG 20 or a placebo to see which works better and improves outcomes.
This Phase 2 study tests whether SNP-610 (or a placebo) can improve non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a serious form of fatty liver disease. It also checks safety by comparing outcomes between the two groups.
This study tests a new injected drug (TQA2225/AP025) that may help reduce liver fat and inflammation in people with NASH (a type of fatty liver disease with scarring). It’s for adults who have had a recent liver biopsy and MRI confirming NASH and moderate liver fat.
This trial tests if the heart medication digoxin can help people with NASH (fatty liver disease with inflammation), who have moderate liver scarring. You will receive digoxin or a placebo for 24 weeks and have a liver biopsy before and after treatment to see if the medication reduces liver damage.
This trial tests an experimental pill called CS060380 for people with NASH (a type of fatty liver disease that can cause liver damage). You may qualify if you have a liver biopsy showing NASH with early-to-moderate scarring, or an MRI showing at least 10% liver fat, and your liver enzymes are stable.
This Phase 2 trial tests whether namodenoson can improve non-alcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH), a type of fatty liver inflammation. You may need two liver biopsies to see whether liver changes improve over time.
