Who can take part
- You have a closed tibia or femur (shin or thigh bone) fracture
- Your fracture was treated surgically within 14 days after your injury at the BG trauma clinic Tübingen
- You are a smoker with about 10–20 pack-years and have been smoking for more than 10 years
- You chose not to join the free smoking-cessation seminar offered for the study
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and you are able to consent for yourself
