Who can take part

  • You are between 21 and 90 years old.
  • Your first stroke happened at least 6 months ago and no more than 24 months ago.
  • You can follow a simple 3-step instruction and remember 2 out of 3 items after 30 minutes.
  • You can move your non-affected (uninjured) elbow and open/close your hand on command.
  • You have limited finger/wrist extension on the affected side (enough to measure), with intact skin on the affected arm, hand, and scalp.
  • While the affected arm is relaxed, special stimulation can cause your fingers to open/extend without pain.
  • You can sit up by yourself in a straight-backed, armless chair during the screening time.
  • You are medically stable, and you do not have an implanted electronic device like a pacemaker.
