Who can take part

  • Be 21 years or older
  • Recently start an invasive breathing machine (intubation), and be able to join within 7 days
  • Doctors expect you will likely need the breathing machine for at least 48 more hours after enrolling
  • No ongoing continuous medicine that fully paralyzes muscles through the whole enrollment period
  • No pregnancy
