Who can take part

  • You’re older than 18 years.
  • You have a sudden tear or related blood clot in the ascending aorta (aorta near the heart).
  • Your symptoms started within 7 days before your TAAD-related surgery.
  • You are having your first main surgical repair for this acute ascending aortic problem.
  • Your surgery may include other major heart procedures done at the same time, if needed.
