Who can take part
- You are older than 18 years
- You have a type A aortic dissection or a blood clot in the aortic wall (intramural hematoma) that involves the ascending aorta
- Your symptoms started within 7 days after your surgery
- Your current surgery is the first (primary) operation to repair this acute type A aortic problem
- The aortic issue is not caused by a serious chest injury (blunt or penetrating trauma)
