Who can take part
- Be an adult age 18–35 or 65–80
- Be healthy overall based on your own report
- Be willing to have a muscle biopsy, do one-sided exercise, and wear/complete activity monitoring
- Be able to read and speak English for study steps and questionnaires
- Have no major joint problems (for example severe knee osteoarthritis or prior joint replacement)
- Have no serious uncontrolled health conditions such as heart, lung, liver, kidney disease, or known thyroid problems
