- You have obesity: BMI 30+ or BMI 27+ with a weight-related health problem
- You’ve tried weight-loss habits before but they didn’t work
- You have a primary care clinician you see as your main doctor
- You do NOT have diabetes based on your history or recent blood sugar tests
- Your recent blood tests (liver, pancreas, kidney, blood counts) must be within safe limits
- You must be able and willing to follow the study diet and activity plan
