This study compares how a knee implant’s components “fit” and move when placed in two different ways during robotic knee replacement. It uses special imaging to see which placement works best for stability and long-term performance.

Who can take part
- You are scheduled for a first (primary) total knee replacement using a MAKO robotic arm
- Your knee problem is causing pain and disability from arthritis type disease (like osteoarthritis or rheumatoid arthritis), and it involves one or more knee areas
- Your knee bending/alignment issue is mild: the deformity is less than 15° (varus, valgus, or flexion) and you do not have a major contracture (less than 15°)
- You are 18 to 70 years old and otherwise healthy enough for surgery (ASA I or II) with BMI 35 or less
- Your PCL ligament is completely intact at the time of surgery, and you have no current or hidden infection near the knee
- You can understand the study, agree to consent, and speak and write Dutch
