Who can take part
- You have a liver cancer diagnosis that matches standard liver imaging criteria (LI-RADS) for hepatocellular carcinoma
- Your overall health is good (ECOG score 0 to 1)
- Your liver function is fairly preserved (Child-Pugh A to B) and bilirubin is under 2.5 mg/dL
- Your kidneys are functioning well (creatinine under 2.0 mg/dL)
- You have no prior liver cancer treatments like procedures or medications, and your tumor is one spot (solitary) that is 3 cm or smaller and not removable
- Your albumin (blood protein) is low at diagnosis (below 3.4 g/dL), and the tumor’s location can be treated with either microwave ablation or 90Y radiation
