This trial tests a language program designed for young children with hearing loss who are getting cochlear implants. It aims to improve how well children understand and use spoken language, by using a “prediction” approach to tailor support.

Who can take part
- Be 5 years old or younger when you start cochlear-implant evaluation (Arm 1) or 36 months or younger when treatment starts (Arm 2)
- Have hearing loss in both ears and be considered a candidate for cochlear implants
- Speak and hear English or Spanish most of the time at home (Arm 1) or English at home (Arm 2)
- A parent/caregiver can join study activities and understands spoken English (Arm 2)
- There must be enough ability for the child to complete progress checks (no severe motor/cognitive disability that stops evaluation)
