Who can take part
- You are 18 or older.
- Your tumor is a rectal GIST newly diagnosed by pathology (not another tumor location/type).
- Your tumor is larger than 2 cm, and doctors think complete local removal with clear margins (R0) isn’t possible at the first check.
- The tumor is close to the anus: the bottom edge is 5 cm or less from the anal verge.
- Your tumor test shows a c-KIT gene mutation.
- You have enough overall health for treatment (blood counts, liver, and kidney tests are within the study’s limits) and you have not used targeted therapy like imatinib before.
