Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • Your doctor says you need a new AV fistula for dialysis.
  • You can commit to follow-up visits for 3 years.
  • The blood vessels in your arm are large enough (at least 2 mm) as checked by ultrasound.
  • You do not have any serious narrowing or stents in your arm or chest veins.
  • You are not expected to need a kidney transplant or home hemodialysis within 6 months.
