Who can take part

  • You must be 50 years old or older.
  • You must have giant cell arteritis (Horton's disease) diagnosed by MRI and ultrasound.
  • You must be able to have an MRI safely (no pacemakers, implants, or severe claustrophobia).
  • You must not be allergic to the contrast dye used in MRI (gadobutrol).
  • You must not be pregnant or breastfeeding.
