Who can take part

  • You have a type of thyroid cancer (papillary, follicular, Hurthle cell, poorly differentiated, or anaplastic) that has spread or come back and cannot be removed with surgery.
  • Your tumor has a specific genetic change, such as a RAS mutation, NF1 mutation, RET rearrangement, NTRK rearrangement, ALK rearrangement, or certain BRAF alterations (not V600E/K).
  • For differentiated thyroid cancer: your disease is getting worse despite treatment (e.g., new or growing tumors) within the last 14 months, and you have had radioactive iodine (RAI) therapy that is no longer working or you cannot have RAI.
  • You have not taken certain cancer drugs (MEK inhibitor, FAK inhibitor, or certain BRAF inhibitors) before, unless it was a short course to enhance RAI.
  • You are 18 or older, with good daily function (ECOG 0 or 1), and adequate organ function (heart, liver, kidneys, blood counts).
  • You must be willing to have two research biopsies of a tumor, unless it is not safe or feasible.
