Brain function study in Lewy body and Alzheimer's disease

This study looks at how brain function changes over time in people with Lewy body disease or Alzheimer's. Researchers will use memory tests, MRI scans, and EEG (a painless brain-wave recording) to track these changes, and you will need a family member or friend to help report on your daily life.

Who can take part

  • You must speak English as your main language.
  • You are either healthy or have a diagnosis of Lewy body disease or Alzheimer's from a neurologist.
  • You are willing to do memory and thinking tests, plus an MRI brain scan and an EEG (a test that records your brain waves).
  • You do not have metal implants like a pacemaker, brain stimulator, or aneurysm clip, and you are not claustrophobic in MRI machines.
  • You have not had a stroke, epilepsy, brain tumor, severe head injury, or other major brain condition besides Lewy body or Alzheimer's.
  • You should be able to bring a study partner (a family member or friend) who knows your day-to-day life.
