Who can take part

  • You are 40 years old or older.
  • You have smoked at least 10 pack-years (one pack per day for 10 years).
  • You are newly diagnosed with COPD, with a lung function test showing a moderate blockage (FEV1 between 30% and 79% of normal).
  • You do not have an active lung infection, lung cancer, asthma, or other major lung or heart conditions.
  • You are not pregnant and do not have uncontrolled high blood pressure or heart rhythm problems.
