Who can take part

  • Age 65 or older and live independently
  • Been taking levothyroxine (thyroid medication) for at least 6 months
  • Take between 75 and 200 micrograms per day, and at least 1.2 micrograms per kilogram of body weight each day
  • No thyroid medication dose changes since your last thyroid test
  • No history of thyroid cancer, severe kidney problems, or use of certain thyroid products
