Who can take part
- You are 65 years or older.
- You have been taking a low dose of thyroid medicine (levothyroxine) for at least 6 months.
- Your thyroid hormone levels are currently normal.
- You are under 50 mcg per day (or 25 mcg if you weigh less than 110 pounds).
- You do not have certain heart conditions, cancer, or other serious health issues.
- You have not had major surgery or a recent hospital stay in the last month.
