  • You are being admitted to the cardiac intensive care unit (a special unit for heart emergencies) through the emergency room, from another part of the hospital, or from another hospital.
  • You have an urgent heart or blood vessel problem that needs care in the intensive care unit.
  • Your care is being managed by the cardiology team.
  • You or a family member or legal guardian can sign a form agreeing to take part.
