Can FPCA prevent confusion in young kids after surgery?

This study tests whether a medicine called FPCA can prevent sudden confusion (delirium) in young children after surgery. If your child is having short surgery with mask anesthesia for the first time, this study may help them have a smoother recovery.

Who can take part

  • Your child is between 2 and 6 years old.
  • Your child is having planned (non-emergency) surgery that should take 2 hours or less.
  • It will be your child's first time getting general anesthesia, and it will be given by mask (inhalation).
  • Your child is generally healthy (classified as ASA I or II).
  • At least one parent lives with the child for more than 3 months each year and can join the study visits.
  • Your child does not have serious organ problems, developmental delays, or hearing or vision issues that could affect the study.
