  • You are scheduled for a lumbar spinal fusion or a lumbar laminectomy (or both).
  • You are between 18 and 85 years old.
  • You speak and understand English well enough to consent.
  • You do not have conditions like seizures, epilepsy, a bleeding disorder, or an implanted device (like a pacemaker).
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and if you could become pregnant, you agree to use contraception.
