- You are having planned (not emergency) abdominal or urologic surgery
- Your overall health is stable enough for surgery (ASA I–III classification)
- You have no history of neurological or psychiatric disorders
- You have no implanted devices like pacemakers or cardiac devices
- You are not taking opioid pain medications regularly before surgery
