Who can take part

  • You are 21 to 85 years old
  • You are currently hospitalized for acute heart failure with symptoms like shortness of breath, fluid in the lungs on X-ray or CT, and high BNP levels
  • You need IV diuretics (water pills) for your condition
  • You do not have severe kidney disease (eGFR at least 20) or need dialysis
  • You have not had a heart transplant or a device like a left ventricular assist device
  • You are not pregnant and can follow the study procedures
