Washed microbiota transplant for C. diff infection
Part of Infections clinical trials.
This trial tests a treatment called washed microbiota transplantation (WMT) for people with a C. diff infection that causes diarrhea. WMT uses processed donor bacteria to help restore healthy gut balance and fight the infection.

- You have a confirmed C. diff infection (positive lab test or pseudomembranous colitis on colonoscopy) and have diarrhea (≥3 loose stools per day for at least 2 days).
- You are not pregnant or breastfeeding, and are willing to use effective birth control for 3 months after treatment.
- You do not have a weak immune system (e.g., HIV, low white blood cells) or take high-dose steroids or other immune-suppressing drugs.

This trial tests a new treatment called CMTS0929 for people with C. diff infection. It aims to see if the treatment can help clear the infection and improve symptoms.
This trial tests whether giving a stool transplant (also called FMT) can treat a new, early C. difficile infection in people who have improved while on antibiotics. It may help some people prevent the infection from coming back or worsening.
This study tests if a freeze-dried fecal transplant (FMT) can help people with difficult-to-treat diarrhea caused by IBS-D or recurring C. diff infections. It's a way to restore healthy gut bacteria and may reduce symptoms.
This study follows patients who were treated for a C. difficile infection (a serious gut bacteria infection) at Umeå University Hospital to compare how well they recover long-term with either a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT—transferring healthy gut bacteria from a donor) or antibiotic treatment alone.
This trial compares three treatments for Clostridioides difficile infection (a severe diarrhea caused by bacteria) to see which works best and prevents it from coming back. It tests a fecal microbiota transplant (FMT, transferring healthy donor stool), fidaxomicin, and vancomycin, all given by mouth or tube.
This trial tests if washed microbiota transplantation (WMT) can help solid organ transplant recipients who develop gut symptoms, infections, or rejection after their transplant. WMT may restore a healthy balance of gut bacteria to improve these problems.
