  • You are scheduled for bariatric (weight-loss) surgery.
  • You can follow instructions to use a simple breathing exercise device before and after surgery.
  • You do not have any medical reason that would make using a breathing device unsafe (like a collapsed lung or recent chest injury).
  • You are able to take deep breaths and your lung capacity is not severely limited.
