Who can take part

  • You are between 18 and 60 years old.
  • Your body mass index (BMI) is over 40.
  • You are scheduled for weight-loss surgery done through small cuts (laparoscopy) under general anesthesia.
  • Your risk of lung problems after surgery (according to the ARISCAT score) is 45 or higher.
  • You have not had lung surgery before, and you do not have moderate or severe lung disease.
