Who can take part

  • You are 60 years or older.
  • You are having a non-heart surgery, like vascular, liver, or spine surgery.
  • You will need general anesthesia and a special blood pressure line (arterial line) for monitoring.
  • You speak English.
  • Your thinking and memory are generally okay (MoCA score of 10 or more).
  • You do not have major vision problems.
  • Your surgery is not an emergency.
  • You have not had a stroke in the last 3 months.
