Who can take part

  • You must have a bicuspid aortic valve (a heart valve with two flaps instead of three), confirmed by imaging or surgery.
  • You must be between 20 and 80 years old.
  • Your aortic valve function should be either mild or less (normal group) or moderate to severe (calcification group) in terms of narrowing or leakage.
  • You cannot have advanced kidney disease (stage 3 or higher).
  • You cannot have other inherited heart conditions or a serious illness that limits life expectancy to less than 6 months.
