Who can take part
- You are 65 years or older.
- You are having orthopedic, chest, or liver/pancreas/bile duct surgery under general anesthesia that will last at least 2 hours.
- You will have an arterial line placed (a thin tube to monitor blood pressure during surgery).
- You do not have uncontrolled diabetes or high blood pressure.
- You do not have vision problems that can't be corrected with glasses or contacts.
- You do not have memory problems, dementia, depression, Parkinson's, or other brain disorders, and you can communicate easily.
