This trial tests if a special PET scan can predict how well the drug abemaciclib works for people with advanced hormone receptor-positive, HER2-negative breast cancer. If you qualify, you would receive abemaciclib and have imaging scans to see if your cancer responds.

Who can take part

  • You must have advanced breast cancer that has spread or cannot be removed with surgery.
  • Your cancer must be hormone receptor-positive (ER+) and HER2-negative.
  • You must have at least one tumor outside the liver that is at least 1.5 cm in size.
  • If you are premenopausal, you must be on a GnRH agonist for at least 6 weeks before the special PET scan.
  • You must not have taken abemaciclib for advanced disease or within 2 years of finishing it as part of earlier treatment.
