Who can take part
- You are 18 years or older.
- You are either a patient with esophageal or liver cancer who is receiving, planning, or has recently finished chemoradiation, or a healthy volunteer matched by age and gender.
- You have not had a pneumococcal (pneumonia) vaccine in the last 5 years.
- You do not have a weakened immune system (like uncontrolled HIV) and you are not taking IVIG (intravenous immunoglobulin) now or in the last 3 months.
- You do not have a severe allergy to any part of the pneumonia vaccine.
