Who can take part

  • You are 18 years old or older.
  • You have a confirmed infection on the wires (leads) of your pacemaker or defibrillator (CIED).
  • Your entire heart device and leads have been completely removed.
  • You are not pregnant or nursing, and if you could become pregnant, you are using effective birth control.
  • You do not have an infection on a heart valve or another infection elsewhere that needs long-term antibiotics.
