Who can take part

  • You are 18 years or older.
  • You have a heart device (like a pacemaker) with a skin infection or pocket infection showing redness, swelling, pus, or an open wound.
  • Your infection is caused by certain resistant bacteria (Staphylococcus, Streptococcus, or Enterococcus) that respond to oritavancin.
  • You are not allergic to oritavancin or similar antibiotics (unless you are in the control group).
  • You agree to avoid heparin (a blood thinner) during treatment if needed.
  • You are not pregnant or breastfeeding.
