Can a heart-healthy diet help prevent kidney stones?

Who can take part

  • You must be between 19 and 89 years old
  • You must have had kidney stones in the past (diagnosed by a doctor or seen on a scan)
  • You must be in the Birmingham, AL area and either part of the CARDIA study or a patient at UAB/Kirklin Clinic
  • You must be willing to eat meals prepared by the study’s nutrition team and collect your urine for 24 hours
  • You must not be on dialysis, have had a kidney transplant, or have certain kidney or digestive conditions
