Who can take part
- You have a type of liver cancer called hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
- Your cancer is at a stage where surgery can't be done now, either because it's advanced (Stage C) but hasn't spread to lymph nodes or distant organs, or it's Stage B but not removable by surgery.
- You have at least one tumor that can be measured on a scan (like a CT scan).
- You have not had any previous cancer treatment (like chemo, targeted pills, or procedures like embolization or ablation).
- Your liver is working relatively well (Child-Pugh score less than 7) and you have no fluid buildup in your belly (ascites) or recent bleeding from your stomach.
- Your overall health is good enough that you can perform daily activities (ECOG score 0 or 1), and your blood counts and organ function are within safe limits.
