Comparing needles for chest lymph node biopsy in sarcoidosis
Part of Immune system & allergy, Lungs & breathing clinical trials.
This trial compares two types of needles used during a breathing-tube biopsy (EBUS-TBNA) to see which one works better for diagnosing sarcoidosis in people with enlarged chest lymph nodes.
Summary written for real people, not researchers, by Clin2.
Who can take part
- You are at least 18 years old.
- You have enlarged lymph nodes in your chest (at least 1 cm in size on a CT scan).
- Your doctor suspects sarcoidosis as the cause.
- You are already scheduled for an EBUS-TBNA procedure (a scope through the mouth to sample the nodes).
- The enlarged lymph nodes are not thought to be due to another condition like cancer or infection.

This study checks lymph nodes in the chest (using a camera-guided test) in people with advanced non-small cell lung cancer who are getting curative-intent radiation. The trial may help doctors better confirm how far the cancer has spread and guide the best radiation treatment plan.
This trial compares two different ways of moving the needle during an EBUS-TBNA procedure to see which method gets better tissue samples from enlarged lymph nodes in the chest. It may help doctors improve the accuracy of diagnosis for conditions like lung cancer or infection.
This trial compares two ways to take tissue samples from swollen lymph nodes in the chest. The goal is to see if a newer technique called EBUS-TTFB gets better samples than the standard method (EBUS-TBNA) when the first samples aren't enough.
This trial compares two ways of taking a lung tissue sample (cryo biopsy vs forceps biopsy) in people who may have sarcoidosis. The goal is to see which method is better at diagnosing the condition.
This study compares three different ways to take a tissue sample from swollen lymph nodes in the chest during a bronchoscopy. The goal is to find which method is best at diagnosing the cause of the swelling.
This trial compares two ways of collecting tissue samples from lymph nodes in the chest during a procedure called EBUS-TBNA. The goal is to see if changing the needle during the procedure gives better results for diagnosing lung cancer.
