Who can take part

  • You must be 18 years or older.
  • Your stroke must be caused by a blockage in the front part of the brain (anterior circulation) and confirmed by a scan.
  • Your stroke symptoms must be moderate to severe, with a score of 6–20 on the NIHSS scale.
  • The study needs to start within 24 hours of your stroke symptoms beginning.
  • You must not have certain conditions (like anemia, lung disease, recent infection, or use of daily oxygen at home) that could affect the results.
