Who can take part
- Age 18–80 years
- Had a large blood vessel stroke in the brain and received emergency clot-removal surgery within 24 hours of symptom onset
- Were independent before the stroke (able to care for yourself)
- Have moderate to severe stroke symptoms on initial exam
- Brain imaging confirms a blocked major artery (carotid, middle cerebral, or basilar artery)
- Able to safely receive hyperbaric oxygen therapy without active lung disease or other serious conditions
